By receiving signals from the engine control computer, the fuel pump control unit turns the fuel pump on and off to build and maintain the fuel pressure needed for your Volvo’s engine to run. Located under the rear seat adjacent to the fuel pump access plate, the fuel pump control module is subject to vibrations that cause broken ground joints within the control module.
